As a freelance Mining Operations specialist, your expertise is vital in helping us protect people, assets, and the environment - making you an essential part of our mission.

As part of client-engagement teams, you’ll work alongside the dss+ team, coaching people at all levels to affect real behavioural change across the operation in their approach to safety and risk.
You’ll use your operational risk management experience as well as your coaching expertise to help instil long lasting and sustainable cultural and behavioural change.
Key responsibilities include:
Working with the dss+ team to identify the root causes of client safety and productivity challenges by analysing a range of metrics and observations, and creating, communicating and implementing solutions
You will be trusted to work directly with the client, identifying pain points and developing and implementing effective solutions to meet their needs
You will coach small groups of individuals within the organisation to help embed real change in the culture and approach to behavioural safety.
This is a short-term project, offered on a freelance/contractor basis and will require time spent on site with the client 5 days per week, for the duration of the project.

As a freelance mining operations expert:
You will have a deep understanding and experience in risk management within mining operations. Be that as an operational leader or someone who specialises in health and safety.
You will also have experience in coaching, not just training. You will have a demonstrable track record in coaching individuals and groups to succeed in achieving real change and success.
You will be fluent in both English and Canadian French, able to work in both languages at a technical and informal level.
You will be comfortable with travel, and can expect to be working away from home up to 80% of the time, with, where practical, weekly commuting to and from the client sites.
You will be a freelancer, contractor, or someone immediately available to take on interim assignments and work up to 5 days per week on client sites for 2 to 6 -month projects.
