As a Principal Consultant at Infrata team, you will assume a key role in driving and expanding our presence in Brazil, with a strong emphasis on business development.

The Role

A Principal Consultant is generally regarded as an experienced consultant with good working knowledge of technical advisory services pre and post financial close in primary and secondary markets. It is expected that a Principal Consultant can lead projects without difficulty requiring medium to low levels of supervision/assistance. Principal Consultant would typically have a reasonable well-informed opinion of markets and players and good working knowledge of project finance transactions. Whilst revenue generation is not a requirement the ability to generate leads and win/assist to win is a competence appropriate of a Principal Consultant.

You will be responsible to:

·       Report directly to the Head of LATAM, and be accountable the business development and go-to-market strategy to support local business growth

·       Identify potential clients through research and network building, work with Head of LATAM and LATAM Business Development Manager to scope projects, prepare and deliver proposals tailored to client needs

·       Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions

·       Collaborate with the global team to contribute to thought leadership, offerings, and methodologies, bringing global best practices to the Brazilian market and clients

·       Support to the Head of LATAM and LATAM Business Development Manager in business development activity specially in Brazil, preparation of proposals, new lead generation, contract and commercial negotiations in delivery of business plan.

·       Participate in and contribute to internal and external industry networks with the aim of developing new business.

·       Project management of technical due diligence and construction monitoring services for large PPP and other infrastructure projects for the benefit of Lenders, Developers and Concession companies.

·       Project management, administration, controls.

·       Role requires travel to the project sites in LATAM.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

 

·       Master’s degree in engineering

·       More than 10 years’ experience

·       Prior experience in engineering, design, construction, project management, consultancy, technical advisory, cost consultancy.

·       Be able to undertake project direction on occasions and/or routine project direction matters. Be able to assist with peer review on other projects not directly managed by you

·       Experienced Project Manager and be single point of day-to-day contact with the client throughout all phases of due diligence and construction/operations monitoring

·       Be able to provide constructive criticism from lenders point of view on sections of due diligence reports/monitoring reports

·       Be experienced in many technical areas such you can appreciate the linkage and effect that one technical area might have on another or on the project lifecycle. Be recognized as a “go-to” person for several technical areas

·       Be generally competent in the majority of technical / commercial areas such that you can appreciate technical / commercial risks and conduct an intelligent conversation with clients and other team members.

·       Be able to maintain high levels of client care throughout all phases of due diligence and construction/operations monitoring

·       Be able to build client contacts presented through project delivery role so that potential further opportunities can be leveraged.

·       Be able to prepare proposals without supervision for any bid opportunity including fee assumptions and mark-up of RFP scope/client terms and conditions

·       Be able to front up negotiations on LoE terms and know when to revert back to senior staff for further direction

·       Be able to assist and/or take on lead roles on business accountabilities such as: marketing, & business development, knowledge management, intellectual capital management, etc

·       Preferably you have experience from both industry and management consulting

·       Exceptional communication skills at the C-suite level, with the ability to effectively drive business development, solution development, and high-quality delivery of due diligence

·       Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team-working attitude to collaborate within fast-paced, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary teams

·       Successful candidates will have a solid foundation in business development, client retention, revenue growth

·       Travel Required
