Automation Test Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Test Engineer with over 5 years of hands-on expertise in developing and executing automated test scripts using tools like Playwright, Selenium, and other modern automation frameworks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing our testing strategies, improving test coverage, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. Experience with JIRA/Azure DevOps for test management and defect tracking is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, and other testing tools

• Create and execute automated test scripts for UI, API, and End-to-End (E2E) testing

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

• Perform test data setup, environment configuration, and troubleshoot automation issues

• Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand features and identify test automation needs

• Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing to ensure compatibility

• Track and manage test cases, execution results, and defects using JIRA

• Monitor test executions, analyze results, and report defects with clear documentation in JIRA

• Implement performance and load testing where necessary

• Continuously optimize test scripts, improve execution speed, and enhance framework scalability

• Mentor junior testers and share best practices with the team

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in automation testing with tools like Playwright and Selenium

• Strong knowledge of programming languages like JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java

• Experience with testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Supertest

• Hands-on experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

• Proficiency in JIRA for defect tracking, test case management, and reporting

• Solid understanding of testing concepts: Smoke, Regression, Integration, and Performance Testing

• Proficiency in version control tools such as Git

• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in agile teams

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure

• Familiarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) tools like Cucumber

• Understanding of monitoring tools and reporting dashboards

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Selenium Professional) are a plus
