Job requirements
What will you do?
You’ll drive growth using your strong consulting experience and knowledge of the Metals and Mining market. In addition to facilitating consulting services, IP generation and overseeing the delivery and execution of client programs, you’ll build long-term relationships, lead significant cross-team initiatives, and develop talent. You’ll increase revenue, deliver profitable margins, and build brand awareness.
More specifically, you will:
Develop and maintain senior client relationships, engaging C-suite stakeholders across the metals and mining sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Drive business growth by identifying client challenges and converting them into consulting opportunities aligned with dss+ capabilities.
Lead business development efforts, building and managing a strong pipeline across target accounts and priority markets.
Oversee the delivery of complex consulting engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes that deliver measurable value for clients.
Shape and expand dss+’s value proposition by identifying opportunities for new services, solutions, and market expansion.
Contribute to thought leadership, developing intellectual capital such as points of view, white papers, and industry insights.
Represent dss+ externally, building the firm’s reputation through industry networks, events, and partnerships.
Lead and develop consulting teams, providing mentorship and coaching to build capability and ensure strong project execution.
Support the execution of the regional strategic plan, driving growth and strengthening the firm’s presence in key markets.
Champion dss+ values and culture, acting with integrity and fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
Who are you today?
You are likely a Principal or Partner in an operations or management consulting firm, with a strong track record of advising and growing client relationships within the Metals & Mining sector in Sub-Saharan Africa. You combine deep operational expertise with commercial acumen, and have a proven ability to win work, lead complex engagements, and deliver measurable impact for clients.
You are a trusted advisor to senior executives, able to listen, challenge, and translate complex operational challenges into practical, high-value solutions. You are equally comfortable developing long-term client partnerships, leading consulting teams, and shaping innovative offerings that address evolving industry needs.
We would expect to see:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
15+ years of professional experience, including 8+ years in management or operations consulting
Strong expertise in operations consulting, ideally including operational risk management, operational excellence, or transformation
Demonstrated success delivering complex engagements for Metals & Mining clients
Proven business development track record, including originating and expanding client engagements
Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and structured problem solving
Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams
Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage
