About the Role

Infrata is looking to appoint a Senior Consultant to join its Madrid-based team. The successful candidate will advise lenders, sponsors, and investors throughout the entire lifecycle of concession-based infrastructure projects, with a strong emphasis on technical due diligence. The role will involve participation in both greenfield tender processes and secondary market- M&A transactions (on both buy-side and sell-side), as well as providing technical advisory support to operational assets. Assignments will span a range of transport infrastructure sectors, primarily highways, railways, and other PPP/concession projects.

The Senior Consultant will act as an experienced Project Manager and serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients across all phases of due diligence and construction or operational monitoring. The role also requires the ability to support Project Directors by providing constructive, lender-focused technical input and critical review of due diligence and monitoring reports. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical due diligence services for PPP infrastructure assets in the context of:

    • Bidding and tender processes

    • M&A transactions (both buy-side and sell-side)

    • Ongoing operational support to lenders, sponsors and asset managers.

  • Review and evaluate a wide range of technical documentation, including but bit limited to:

    • Concession Agreements.

    • EPC and O&M contracts.

    • Annual Budgets and Financial Models

    • Technical reports, inspections and asset condition data.

  • Assess O&M and lifecycle strategies, budgets and cost forecasts, identifying key technical risks constraints and value opportunities.

  • Participate in site visits, inspections and meetings with clients, operators and other stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations and client meetings and deliverables.

  • Support the coordination of internal teams and external advisors within multi-disciplinary project teams.

Job requirements

Required Profile

3–5 years of professional experience working on concession-based infrastructure projects, preferably within an industry sponsor, operator, or Operations & Maintenance function.

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of PPP and concession project structures, particularly within the transport infrastructure sector.

  • Advanced proficiency in English, with the ability to operate effectively in an international working environment.

  • Strong analytical capabilities and a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.

 

Desirable Skills

  • Prior exposure to M&A transactions or technical advisory roles supporting lenders and/or sponsors.

  • Experience with operational assets, including O&M management and lifecycle planning.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical matters clearly and effectively.
