Why This Role

This role focuses on leading client engagements and delivering practical outcomes across operational performance, safety, and transformation programmes.

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing consulting teams, overseeing delivery quality, and building trusted relationships with clients in Japan. The role requires a balance of structured problem-solving, strong project execution, and the ability to work effectively in complex organisational environments.

Your Impact at dss+

You will lead the delivery of transformation programmes, working closely with clients to improve operational performance and organisational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead project teams and manage delivery across multiple workstreams.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders.

• Identify operational challenges and develop practical, implementable solutions.

• Ensure disciplined execution through effective project management and PMO practices.

• Oversee delivery quality, timelines, and measurable outcomes.

• Support business development activities, including proposal development and client engagement.

• Collaborate with regional and global teams to apply leading practices within the Japan market.

• Develop and coach team members to support capability building.

Who You Are

You are a structured and analytical professional with the ability to work effectively with clients and teams in a multicultural environment. You are comfortable managing complexity and delivering clear, practical outcomes.

Experience

• Strong experience in management consulting, including leading client engagements.

• Proven experience in project delivery and team management.

• Background in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

- Operational risk and safety management;

- Operational excellence and performance improvement;

- Asset management, maintenance, or integrity;

- Operations transformation programmes.

• Experience working with asset-intensive industries such as energy, chemicals, mining & metals, or manufacturing.

Capabilities

• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with a high level of organisation and attention to detail.

• Proven project management and/or PMO capability, including governance and execution oversight.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Clear and effective communication, with the ability to engage stakeholders at different organisational levels.

• Ability to work collaboratively within diverse and international teams.

Education & Languages

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

• Fluency in Japanese and English is required.

Mobility

• Willingness to travel within Japan and internationally as required.
