In Chile, dss+ works closely with major mining operators and contractors, supporting complex, large-scale operations across copper, lithium, and other strategic minerals, helping clients address critical challenges related to safety, operational performance, decarbonization, and workforce capability.
At dss+, we embrace diversity and foster an inclusive, team-based culture where people are empowered to contribute, grow, and solve complex client challenges in dynamic environments.
Position Overview
As a Senior Manager, focused on Project Delivery and Business Development for the Mining & Metals industry in Chile, you will play a key role in expanding dss+’s presence in the Chilean mining market.
You will be responsible for driving growth through consulting-led B2B solutions that address the most critical challenges faced by mining companies in Chile — including operational risk, safety performance, productivity, asset management, sustainability, and digital transformation.
This role requires building trusted relationships with senior executives, identifying strategic opportunities, and leading the sale and delivery of large, complex consulting engagements across Chile and the broader Latin American region.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Build credibility and long-term trust with C-level and senior mining executives, acting as a strategic advisor.
Develop and execute Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies tailored to the Chilean mining market, with a strong understanding of copper, lithium, and large-scale mining operations.
Business Development
Identify, prospect, and lead new business opportunities within the Mining & Metals sector in Chile.
Close complex consulting engagements focused on operational risk management, safety and health, operational excellence, supply chain optimization, asset management, digital enablement, and sustainability.
Expand existing accounts by identifying long-term partnership opportunities with major mining operators and contractors.
Engagement & Project Management
Work closely with consulting teams to structure project objectives, deliverables, resources, and timelines.
Engage executive-level stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation of solutions.
Anticipate operational, organizational, and execution risks, proposing strategic actions to mitigate impacts.
Act as a strategic partner to clients, identifying opportunities to extend and deepen engagements.
Tools & Technology
Use CRM and market intelligence tools to manage the sales pipeline and track opportunities.
Develop and deliver compelling business proposals and executive presentations using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Stay actively involved in project execution to ensure service excellence and identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
Qualifications & Experience
Consultative Sales & Business Development
Proven experience selling strategic and operational consulting services to C-level executives in the mining sector.
Strong track record in business development, complex negotiations, and closing large-scale consulting engagements.
Industry Knowledge – Mining & Metals (Chile)
Deep experience within the Chilean mining industry, ideally working with large copper and/or lithium operations.
Strong understanding of local operational challenges, regulatory environment, safety culture, and sustainability priorities.
Technical & Soft Skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and operational leaders.
Strategic, consultative mindset, capable of leading discussions on safety, operational excellence, asset performance, digitalization, and sustainability.
Proven leadership experience in multicultural and cross-functional environments.
Fluent Spanish and English (mandatory).
Education Background
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
MBA or postgraduate degree is a plus.
