Due to significant growth expectations in China, we are hiring a 2nd marketing manager for the region who will work hand-in-hand with the team. 

 

Role Overview 

As the Strategic Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for creating and executing marketing strategy that will effectively help dss+ grow in China through three pillars:  

  • Business acumen to understand the right marketing mix for our business to grow 

  • Personal influence to drive team members to own their part in marketing 

  • Team collobaration to work in partnership with all parties to make dss+ a success. No heroes here; we are all a team. 

You will work most closely with the current Marketing Manager, the China leadership team, and the broader China team. You will be part of the Asia Pacific Marketing team, and the global marketing team, providing a network of expertise and support – colleagues who are equally passionate about what they do. You will report to the Asia Pacific Marketing Leader.  

This role requires business acumen, ideally in professional services, consulting or a manufacturing or similar industry, to be able to advise and strategically map out marketing activities that will make an impact. a strategic mindset, practical marketing expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, geographies, and cultures. You’ll adapt global marketing assets to the China market, craft compelling narratives, and leverage digital and offline channels to engage key stakeholders. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic planning 

  • Apply business acumen and strategic marketing expertise to create short, medium and long-term marketing plans 

  • Drive lead generation through targeted campaigns and storytelling that resonates with local audiences. 

  • Manage marketing funnel including campaign strategy – audience, timing, deployment, and performance tracking. 

  • Plan and execute the development of marketing content (e.g. thought leadership, case studies, videos) tailored to Chinese industries and buyer personas. 

  • Ensure linkage between activities; all activities build on each other. 

  • Collaborate with global digital teams to ensure China content is featured across corporate channels. 

CRM & Digital Marketing 

  • Help us grow the CRM database with accurate, high quality contacts 

  • Elevate our use of digital tools and ensure best practice across all of our initiatives 

  • Lead WeChat strategy and help with content campaigns to drive brand awareness for lead gen and recruitment. 

  • Embed campaign metrics and provide actionable insights to improve performance. 

Events & Engagement 

  • Ensure events are purposefully and successfully embedded where it makes sense 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management 

  • Partner with consulting and sales teams to support GTM efforts. 

  • Manage multiple stakeholders and priorities across business units and functions. 

  • Socialise best practices in marketing with internal stakeholders 

  • Liaise with external agencies and vendors to ensure high-quality delivery and adherence to brand standards. 

Your Profile 

You bring 10-12 years of marketing experience, ideally within B2B or consulting-led environments, with exposure to sectors such as Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Metals and Mining, Oil, Gas & Energy, and Industrial Manufacturing. 

You: 

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage the full spectrum of marketing and communications activities, collaborating with regional and global teams as needed. 

  • Have experience and understanding of where marketing and sales tools have a role, and how to change behaviour of people to use them. 

  • Are team-oriented, and proactive in solving problems. 

  • Thrive in multicultural, cross-functional environments and effectively manage competing priorities. 

  • Are passionate about driving impact through insight-led, locally relevant marketing. 

  • Have strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
