As a freelance SME, you will play a key role in supporting client engagements across Sweden, combining assessment, auditing, and coaching to drive meaningful and sustainable change in safety and operational performance.

Your Impact at dss+
You will support the delivery of operational risk and safety transformation programmes, working directly with client teams to assess risks, strengthen capabilities, and embed sustainable cultural and behavioural change.
Key Accountabilities
Conduct operational risk assessments and site audits across client environments
Support the identification of safety, risk, and performance improvement opportunities
Deliver coaching and training interventions to embed behavioural and cultural change
Work directly with client stakeholders at all levels to strengthen safety leadership and accountability
Support the implementation of operational risk management frameworks and practices
Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagements
Contribute to the successful delivery of short- and long-term transformation programmes

Job requirements
Who You Are
You bring strong analytical thinking, a curious mindset, and the ability to work effectively in diverse, international environments. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders, solving complex problems, and contributing to meaningful outcomes.
You are an experienced operational risk professional with a strong track record in safety and coaching within industrial environments. You are either an established freelancer or available for contract-based assignments and able to deliver impact from day one.
Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in operational risk management and workplace safety
Proven experience delivering coaching and training to stakeholders at all organisational levels
Experience within asset-intensive industries such as chemicals, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or utilities
Experience supporting management of change and embedding safety culture initiatives
Capabilities
Strong coaching, facilitation, and training skills
Ability to assess complex operational environments and identify improvement opportunities
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently in client environments
Education & Languages
Master’s degree in Engineering, HSE, Business, or a related field
Fluency in Swedish (mandatory requirement)
Strong English communication skills
Mobility
Willingness to travel across Sweden and the Nordics as required
Availability to work on both short- and long-term freelance assignments
